Instructions

Use your arrow keys (or WASD keys) to move the tiles. (Mobile users can swipe the screen to play.) When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one and you score that many points! Make a 2048 tile to win the game. If you win, you can continue the game to see how high your score can get! Good Luck! Remember to ★ and ♥!

Notes and Credits

2048 Game - By BoltBait - Development: ~19 hours. ★ I saw several 2048 Games here on the Scratch web site, but none had all the features I wanted... so I made my own. I hope you ♥ it! Add it to your favorite studio! ★ If you like this game, you should try some of my others: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/94795454/ ★ Original concept here: http://2048game.com/ I tried to match it the best I could. ★ See who's playing! Lots of information is stored in cloud variables, so be sure to click the "See Data→" link below the play window. (Note that cloud variables are only updated after the game is over.) ★ Click "See top Players" to see a list of the highest scoring players. Are you good enough to join that list? I'm on there now, but probably not for long! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ★ Revision history: (1 backdrop, 4 sprites, ~39 scripts) +Aug 28 2019: Initial Release. +Aug 29 2019: Added some delays in the cloud variable code making the high score table more stable. +Aug 31 2019: Allow user to key 1 move ahead. This gives the illusion of less lag between the moves. +Sept 1 2019: EndScore cloud variable now saves the player's score followed by the biggest tile they made. +Sept 2 2019: Sped up the sliding of the tiles to better match the original game. +Sept 6 2019: Fixed the delay when pressing two same keys in a row. (Later this was removed.) +Sept 10 2019: Game Over screen now has a cutout so the final score is more clear. +Sept 19 2019: Improved the swiping engine. Should be less false direction reads now. +Oct 26 2019: Fixed cloud high score variable 4. 500 ♥ after only 11 days! Thanks, everyone! ★ Do Not Remix - at least until you've read this: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/81234/
