made for the @griffpatch july 2024 game jam "feed it" in collaboration with my sister @rainsoupshark :3 use space to continue/skip through dialogue use arrow keys or a/d to move left/right you cant jump, its true - just go back to camp and the game will continue from there. you can only carry one piece of kindling at a time! ! IF YOU WANT HINTS, SCROLL DOWN! IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SPOILED, DO NOT SCROLL DOWN ! finally, a brand new scratch retro-esque story-led rpg 2d metroidvania platformer! im realizing that this is the first platformer ive pretty much ever made with actual art so thats cool i had a really fun time designing stuff and thinking new ideas when it came to game design while developing this project so that was pretty neat the rest of the credits are in the project (you do have to win to see them though) huge shout out to tv girl and gorillaz who got me through this project uniform pixel sizes? in this economy? (the mixels are because of the time constraints) (this is still technically a work in progress) so yeah i think thats all i have to say HINTS: [start from camp] 1st piece: right one screen and back one screen 2nd piece: right four screens, up one screen, and continue 3rd piece: right one screen, up two screens, and continue 4th piece: right two screens, up one screen, and continue [you should technically be able to swap the order of the third and fourth although it is recommended you dont] this totally fits the game jam theme perfectly and doesnt stretch it whatsoever i mean ive inserted "feed it" not once but twice into the script so its gotta count also fun fact i wrote all the credits by hand and it took maybe an hour yknow what? fine. tags. --- #game #metroidvania #platformer #rpg #celeste #hollow #knight #stories #idk #what #im #doing #kindling #fire
